Business English coaching for international executives

Bizz English is one-to-one business English coaching for executives and entrepreneurs who work internationally. I'm Derek Zardus, a business English coach in Warsaw. Before I founded Bizz English in 2017, I spent more than 15 years in corporate sales, management, and training. I coach in person and online. My goal is simple: you lead meetings, negotiate, and present in English with the same confidence you have in your own language.

Who this is for

Is this you?

Your English is good. It helped you get where you are today. But good English and boardroom English are not the same thing.

  • You think clearly in your own language. In English, you translate in your head first. By the time your sentence is ready, the conversation has moved on.
  • You have a new international role. Every call with London or New York feels like a test.
  • In your own language, you are a strong negotiator. In English, you say "yes" too quickly.
  • You have finished the grammar courses. You don't need another textbook. You need practice with someone who understands business.

If this sounds like you, let's talk.

Why Derek “Not a teacher. A leader with business experience.” Joanna G., Vice President Sales · FMCG

Why work with Derek

One of my clients, a Vice President of Sales, said this about me. I am happy to agree with her.

Before I taught English, I worked for more than 15 years in corporate sales, management, and training. I have built and run six businesses of my own. I have led teams through change, trained sales people, and sat in more budget meetings than I can count.

I have also spent much of my life in front of an audience: as an entertainer, as an actor on stage and screen, as a cruise director, and in the U.S. National Forensic League, where I competed and coached in speech and debate.

So we won't only work on what you say. We will work on how you say it: your voice, your timing, and your presence in the room.

Grammar is important. Being understood is more important.

The method

How does coaching with Derek work?

Every client follows the same three steps. The content is always built around your goals, your industry, and the real conversations you have at work.

  1. Confidence

We start with what you already do well. You show what you know, and you see that people understand you. Most clients are better than they think.

  2. Production

Together, we choose a real goal. For example, a quarterly presentation, a negotiation, or your first company meeting in English. Then we build the language for it, step by step.

  3. Refinement

This is my favorite part. We work on the music of English: rhythm, stress, and tone. Your English moves from correct to compelling.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who is Bizz English coaching for?

Bizz English is for executives, directors, managers, and entrepreneurs who use English at work, or want to. Most clients already speak good English. They want to lead meetings, negotiate, and present with the same confidence they have in their own language.

Do you coach in person or online?

Both. I coach clients face to face in Warsaw every week, and online for clients anywhere in the world. I have worked with professionals from 20 countries. For full-day intensives and seminars, I can also travel to you.

What level of English do I need?

Most clients are at an intermediate level or higher. You should be able to hold a simple conversation in English. On the free intro call, we look at your level together and decide if coaching is the right fit.

What happens on the free intro call?

We talk about where you use English at work, what feels difficult, and what you want to achieve. There is no pressure to buy. You will leave with at least one idea to try the next day, even if we don't work together.

How fast will I improve?

It depends on your goal and how much you practice between lessons. There is no magic wand in language learning. One hour a week is a start, but short daily practice makes the biggest difference. I give you materials and tools to make that practice easy.

Can my company pay for the coaching?

Yes. I can invoice your company directly.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. Coaching comes with a money-back guarantee, so you can start with no risk. The full terms are in the Terms of Use.

Do you run seminars for teams?

Yes. I run seminars in English on leadership, persuasion, critical thinking, productivity, and confidence, in Warsaw or on location. See the Seminars page for all topics.
